If an employee is eligible for worker's comp. benefits, can YOU regulate the use of his accrued vacation and sick leave if he is out for only 29 days? Is it different if he is out more than 30 days? Specifically, if he has 30 days of accrued days of sick leave, can you require him to use these days or keep him from using them while drawing workers' comp benefits? Is the way your company does this a matter of following the LAW exactly or is it just best practices?
