"Care For" definition

FMLA says an employee can care for a sick relative. If the relative is in the hospital, is the employe entitled to still take leave to care for them?

I would leave it up to the doctor completing the certification form. Numerous reasons could exist for a relative to be at a hospital with a patient....

In my experience, the "providing psychological comfort and reassurance" (825.116 a)in the FMLA regs does it every time. No doctor is going to deny that.
