resignation during fmla leave

An employee has turned in her resignation half-way through her 12-week leave. She requested that her termination date be effective on the date her leave was scheduled to end. Is it necessary to honor the full leave period, or may we accept her resignation effectively immediately? Thanks

I would notify the ee(in writing) that his/her resignation is accepted and effective on __________ date.

It is the ER disgression to allow it to go to the date of her expected return but why would you.

The thread I believe Marc was talking about is "FMLA and 45 day resignation"

Good Luck and welcome to the forum.
