Children's doctor appointments?

We have an employee whose son is being treated for a condition that has involved three separate doctor visits so far. The visits have covered a span of two weeks. He could have a serious condition but so far the doctors have not determined what is causing his problem. Since our employee takes him to these appointments, do these visits come under FMLA?

Her children also have social adjustment issues and have regularly scheduled visits at a doctor out of the area. Will these be under FMLA? There is no inpatient care, just visits.

I would certify this employee for intermittent FMLA if he/she is eligible. It appears that the child has some sort of serious illness even if you do not have a diagnosis.

I would definetly notify them that this is FMLA if otherwise qaulified. Sounds like this may be an ongoing condition.
