Workers Comp and FMLA

I have an employee out on Workers comp (chances are she will not be returning, but that is another story), anyhow, I just want to make sure I can run FMLA while on Workers Comp. I have seen that it is ok to do, but I guess just looking for reassurance.
Also, is it LEGAL to document in letter I send her that I would like to go back to JUNE 1 as start date.
Any avise would be appreciated.
