Owners-Questions they are allowed to ask

One of our co-owners asked the other if they had a family history of any kind of abuse. My thoughts are, this is totally out of line - comments please.

    It really sounds to me like he was joking with the other owner. Like me asking the Comptroller in the next office "Do any of the elevators in your family go all the way to the top, or is your's the only one?" I said something in a complaining manner to my boss one day about one of the owners' decisions. My boss said, "He may not always be right, but he's always the owner." He was right. Owner saying that to owner, I see no reason to give it a second thought. Owner asking that of an employee, however, could be very problematic.
