Legal question to applicant?

We are a pizza company and we do hire drivers for some of our stores. Is it legal to ask an applicant during the interview process their birthdate? Or do we have to wait until we hire them and hope they are of age? We require our drivers to be at least 18.
I've asked the Oregon Dept. of Labor but haven't heard back.
