AARP employment program

Have any of you had any experience with the AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program? I'd never heard of it until I got a fax today with a 2 week trial at no cost to the employer. The fax says they will refer one or more enrollees to apply or interview for our open position and the enrollee works for us for two weeks while we assess them, and AARP pays them for those two weeks.
It sounds too good to be true--which makes me slightly suspicious--but I'd sure like to give someone in the over 50 crowd a shot at our open positions.
Are any of you familiar with--or have any thoughts on--this?

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
So if the employee is injured on the job during the first two weeks, who covers it? Generally, volunteers are not covered by worker's comp.

I knew there was another reason why I posted the question. This is something definitely to consider and check into before proceeding. Thanks for making that point. They are being paid the first two weeks by AARP, so I want to be certain who is on the hook if they are injured on the job.
