3rd Party for Employee Satisfaction Surveys

I'm looking for a 3rd party to adminster an employee satisfaction survey. We are a small (between 75-100 ee) non-profit so I'm looking for someone that doesn't have a large set up fee. I know there are a lot of companies out there but hoping someone has experience with someone.

We conducted ours in the spring of this year. Are you looking for someone to come on site to administer the plan? We surveyed approximately 90 employees; however, it was done in groups with the presence of the surveyor only. The cost was $5,000. I imagine you could contact this firm and they could customize a survey for you but you'd have to have a plan to deliver it.

You paid five thousand dollars to survey 90 employees? Do you realize that was $55 per employee for an opinion poll that you already knew the results of prior to the survey? This must be a government enterprise! This type of budgeting would not ever work in the private sector.

Not so fast! I shall go on to say that not only did this gentleman design customized questions, he personally instructed each group and sat with several employees with mental limitations to assist them in replying. He then gathered the information and carefully analyzed the replies and produced a non-biased report with lovely bar graphs in a nice blue report binder. He added a nice narrative section to help leadership understand the plight of the worker. He goes on with yet another narrative containing suggesions and recommendations and a plan to implement changes which would invoke positive attitudes and thus boost morale and production. All that for $5K!!

Now ask me if it's effective? I shall leave you in suspense.

I guess we don't need something on site but that would be given to the employees and they would have a postage paid return envelope that they would send to a third party. They would then compile the results into a nice report.

Years back, we contacted our local university and several students prepared and tabulated our employee survey. They did it as a project.
