PA Unemployment Update

For those of you who may have been following this nonsense, a few months ago the Commonwealth Court in PA ruled in an Unemployment case that employers could not have representation at an Unemployment hearing unless it was an attorney. Thankfully, yesterday Gov. Ed Rendell signed SB 464 into law, which re-establishes the right of employers to represent themselves.

That first ruling by the Commonwealth Court is bizaare. Duh. Doesn't it amaze you sometimes how something like that can roll uphill and actually come to fruition?

Should it really amaze us that lawyers get other lawyers to pass laws ensuring the income of lawyers? This is one of the few known cases where sh*t actually DID flow uphill.
