Gotta vent! Gotta vent!

I think my head is going to explode! Get this
- I was directed to construct a policy and procedures manual. I arranged a very brief meeting for this morning to describe the manual, its purpose, etc., and what I needed from the attendees. I caught more s**t than you'd believe! One "lady" actually had the nerve to say, "What motivation have I got to do this except to keep my *#&@^#))! job?!" How about your paycheck, Sunshine?! and what kills me is that this chick is the highest paid woman in the company - a data entry clerk with only two years more seniority than I and a monstrous attitude. Aaarrrggghh! I guess what gets me the most is that HR has absolutely no autonomy or authority at all, not even to discipline in that kind of situation. I wanted to go to her supervisor, but she beat me to his office and was in there screaming about how she deserved a raise and didn't need any more of this b*llsh*t! It is becoming more and more obvious that this company is utterly lacking in discipline and professionalism and is prematurely aging me. Unfortunately for me, I like it and most of the people, but I wonder now if it isn't past time to bail. Anybody hiring? Thanks for letting me vent. Aaaaahhhh - time for Advil, then it's off to school. Fourth class out of five to get my certificate in HR. Then it'll be time for a beer...Linda

I have no words of wisdom about your situation, you can't make her help, and even if you did what value would she bring to the document? Nada!
Hang in there!
Did it make me feel better? Did it change the day to day hand holding, baby stuff that hits me in the face the minute I turn on my office light? Nope, but it did put things in better perspective! I hope your day is betterxhugs

Keep your chin up!
Lessons learned: Do not rely on other people to help. Do not b**ch, nag or complain. Put in 1 or 2 hours a day on the manual. Understand that essentially, you (and only you)are creating this. For those areas that you are unsure, do the best you can and put a note on it so that someone with mental capacity will review. No one but you will be judged when the project is completed.
Don't stress. Once you get rolling it becomes a great diversion from the other "stuff".
I remember when I was a little boy, my paternal grandmother, bless her soul, would always, always, always, no matter what you complained about or what hurt or felt bad or what kind of mood needed correcting or whatever else in the world might be wrong with one of the family, her only question was, "Have you had a BM today?" That was apparently her solution for whatever ailed anybody. Maybe that was what she considered venting. Or maybe that was before venting was dreamed up as a phychological release. I guess we should have gotten that out of the way early in this discussion..........x:-)
Tomorrow, class, we will discuss enemas. Test on Friday.
My grandmother's solution was to pile us into her T-bird and take us shopping. God, I loved that woman.
