Sharing Applications

It has been requested a couple of times by our CEO and COO that we share some of our employment applications with a few of our customers that are needing employees. I must admint I am a bit leary about doing this. The applicant's completed these forms with persoanl information for the purpose of attaining employement with our company not someone else. In fact the applicaiton states across the back that it is for this employer. Do you know of any "legal" reasons not to share this information? I can imagine a boat load of what-if's and such...

I know that means more work for you but I wouldn't take any risks.
However, I had a boss who told some of our customers to call me to discuss their openings. I felt like a recruiter. If I had interviewed someone with a background similar to the cudtomer's needs I would tell the customer that I would call the applicant, explain the position and left it up to them to call for an interview.
I also made it very clear that I was not recommending that they hire anyone I sent to them.
