AL. and 10 Commandments

As most people are aware Alabama has had a little controversy over the 10 Commandments. People feel very strong about this issue. Here is my questions - We promoted a IS Rep last week to Branch Manager - he e-mailed me today and asked can he post the 10 Commandments in his office. Our policy only states that it not be offensive, threatening, discriminatory, etc... To some people especially with this issue - all of the above could or could not apply. Any suggestions - would you allow it in your workplace?

It would not be appropriate. You might suggest he keep a Bible in his desk drawer for private reading during break or a card in his wallet with the Commandments on it.

Why, why, why even entertain it? This goes under the same category as people who find it necessary to go up and pet a rabid pitbull.

I would no more allow the Ten Commandments be posted as I would any other item with religious undertones, including pictures of satan.

BTW, that dog will bite you........

I agree - why do they even ask. I don't and have expressed my concern for the bible verse that is on the intranet. I fall on deaf ears.
