Does the state of New Jersey require employers to payout unused PTO upon termination of employment? We are a new company and are in the process of creating an employee handbook.
When in doubt, take the high road. NY does require it, not too sure about NJ. It is usually good employment practices to pay out unused PTO, otherwise you get people turning in a two week notice, but they will take vacation for those two weeks.
