We are in the process of updating our application form...Social Security Numbers (Optional) and Drivers License Numbers are boxes currently on our old forms. Since having that number during the application process is of no value, should it even be on the application?

It depends...if you're conducting background checks the DL# will provide one way to do it....it also will help you verify that they hold a valid license, should the job require such a thing.
