Lunch breaks

Isn't it stated somewhere that if a person is going to work a maximum of 5 hours, they don't have to take a lunch break..or am I dain bramaged???

Depends on the state law. In NY, the limit is 6 hours before a lunch break of either a half or full hour must be taken. You need to check the Oregon laws.

30 minutes for each 6 to 8 hours , scheduled between 2nd & 5th hour if work period is 7 hours or less, or between 3rd & 6th hour is work period is more than 7 hours. Breaks of 30 minutes or more need not be paid as long as the employee is completely relieved of duty.

Paid Break: 10 minutes for each 4 hours

Thanks very much..it is 6 hours in Oregon for meal periods and every 2 hours for 10 minute breaks.
