Employee Information Requested by Child Support Agency

As an employer, what information are we required by law to give to child support agencies? They normally request information such as: address, telephone number, social security number, DOB, yearly and hourly earnings, insurance information. Is there any information that should not be given and/or verified?

You are required by law to respond to each question on THEIR WRITTEN QUESTIONNAIRE. If they call, tell them to send you the questionnaire and respond only to that. Beware phone calls from persons alleging to work for state agencies, attorneys and other HR departments. Spouses are notorious for pretending to work for agencies when they call.

I agree with Don - if a child support agency wants information, they will send a form requesting it. I have NEVER had a situation where they call requesting it. You need to supply whatever information they request on the form, send it back and I always keep a copy for the ee's file with a note of the date I returned it.
