Giving out information

My company is allowing a suplemental insurance agency to come in and present their products to our employees. They want us to do a census, which would include providing them with confidential information (such as salary), on our employees before they come in. Is it illegal to give this information out to an insurance company?

Sure. Presumably they are a serious vendor and offering life or disability, but there's no problem with providing it.

They need to information if life insurance amount is salary based. You can tell the vendor that confidential information will be provided by each individual at the time of enrollment.
