I am looking for experience with sponsoring a foreign employee (non-U.S. citizen) on an H1B visa. Specifically, the Department of Labor requires a "start date" and "end date" on employment period. Does this waive employment at will? Also, there is a requirement that if employment is terminated the employer guarantees it will pay the employee's transportation back to his/her country of residence. I am interested in hearing from employers who have employed on H1B visas, and particularly those who have terminated such employees on whether they have had to pay relocation expenses. I am particularly interested in hearing of such experience by state agency employers.
