We actually had something similar happen. Employee was warned about gross misconduct and insubordination and instead of immediately terminating him he stayed on a week and was finally let go for more misconduct not as serious. We fought the unempl…

I did a copy and paste from IRS website and sent it to employees via email. Some are already jumping for joy even though it doesn't amount to much.

I am wondering also.

We are also a small company and we take the employees out to lunch at the same restaurant every year. They can pick whatever they want to eat and we have a ornament gift exchange. Small on the scheme of things, but the employees like it.
-
Wow. I can see low participation if the employees have to pay to attend.

Ours are in a locked fire safe within my locked office. I might have a false sense of security since I have a big picture window into my office which could be broken. Of course the building alarm would deafen the thief.

I think part of the macarena (sp) is in the dance.

Funny you should mention the screen name "turkey". I was previewing the new features for this website and they had me sign in as "turkey" and a different password to view what I could have for a higher subscription price. I failed to log off and …

I have already forwarded that to my husband.

We get ours next week. Not looking forward to hearing what the probable increase is.

This thread has to be one of the funniest in a long time.

Our company is owned by a woman and the top two spots after her are women. I can only recall one male who seemed to have trouble with that and thought that he could play us and get what he wanted. He is no longer with the company.
-
Wow, that is strict.

I can't remember the last time I was in a bank. Like you said, direct depost and ATM's there is no reason to go inside. Even our business banking is done by drive-thru or night deposit and online.

My favorite site is the view from outside a plane window when landing at home. I see all the trees and water and mountains and realize what a beautiful area I live in.

Our employees are paid for the exact hours they would work for vacation, pto, and holidays. Monday-Thursday is 9 hours and if they are off Friday it is 4 hours. For me if I am off a week, 10 hours for Monday- Thursday. Friday is a regular day off …

I work 4 tens and love it. I get Friday off and can get all doctor's appointments and other things that can only be taken care of during the week done. I don't feel that working a couple of extra hours per day is that bad as I start early in the mo…

I agree also.

That made my day.

My first firing took place after hours as the owner of the company decided he didn't want to be around for the fallout. The gal that was terminated cried and cried for over an hour and I stayed with her. I felt so badly for her but have learned ov…

We are a very small company and have hired one new part-time and two new full time employees within the last couple of months. We see this as helping our business grow over the long run.

Everyone here has complete access to anything on the internet. Being a small company we treat abuse as a disciplinary action. So far we have had no obvious abuse. We have to have access as we use facebook, twitter and blogs as tools for our busin…

I did press play and got my morning laugh. Well done. (I hope it was supposed to be funny)

According to early news release, it appears McCrystle has been fired.

I don't know much of the details, but I did read that the Rolling Stone reporter hung around him for about a month and overheard some of the remarks between the General and his "peeps". Maybe the General forgot that the reporter was in the backgrou…

I think she definitely has a case and I am not generally into lawsuits, this one I am rooting for.

Just the fact that they asked her was creepy to me. If they hadn't asked they would have never known and certainly the kids would have never known she conceived a few weeks before she was married. The teacher should be given credit for being honest…

I just think that the pregnancy issue is such a non-issue in today's world, but I admit I didn't take into account her teaching at a christian school. I doubt many of her students would have counted back to see if she was pregnant when she got marr…

4 hours per month/6 days a year for exempt or nonexempt. It is not carried over year to year and is not paid out at termination.

I am a complete fan of Lost, but was not home last night so had to use the DVR. I am trying not to read any references to what happended on the finale, but that might be nearly impossible. Hope the ending is good.
