I'm with HRinNH. Shrooms are just plain nasty. Taste like dirt. Reminds me of pencil erasers. And rocky mountain oysters - well, we won't even go there!
-
Hold the shrimp and 'shrooms and I'll be that could really be tasty - oh, and substitute Rice-a-Roni for the Uncle Ben's... maybe better lose the onion... well, the almonds wouldn't be very good with the chicken-flavored rice.... oh, heck with it. …
-
You mean people actually eat rice that doesn't come in a box with "Rice-A-Roni" printed on the front? Didn't know they made such things. x:-/
-
So now my only claim to fame is that when people see my name (which is supposed to relate to "paralegal"), I make them quack. What a tribute! x;-) Almost time to go home. Another hour or so.
-
Quack quack? What was that all about? x:-/

Mustang Sally (aka HRQ) swears by PBML&P sandwiches. Guess I just have boring tastes. Can remember as a child eating mayo sandwiches on white bread. Must be the Canadian influence from my parents. x;-)
-
I'm sorry... I just don't get the whole PB/pickle or PB/mayo/lettuce/pickle thing... it's just too strange for me. x;-)
-
I think you can say the "v" word, Leslie. x;-) I saw a variation on this that called for balsamic vinegar instead of oil and it was considered to be a dessert. Have you tried that? This does sound great, though. I don't know if it would trump my…

Very true, Cin. That's why everytime I go to our property in Alabama our general manager (a former Oregonian gone Southern on us) back there makes me bring her a two-pound loaf of Tillamook Cheddar. However, now I just send it to her via UPS becau…

Nice variation on one of my favorites, Mwild. One of my favorites: Bag O' Salad Pita bread Best Foods Mayo Ranch dressing Sliced sharp Tillamook cheddar Cucumber Tomato Green onions Green pepper (optional) Combine salad with vegetables in a big b…

Pringles are good for uniformity on a sandwich but I think I prefer Ruffles. And I never put jelly in my peanut butter and chip sandwiches. And it absolutely HAS to be old-fashioned peanut butter (regular peanut butter is too sweet). x;-)
-
You sound like my kind of bachelorette, Cinderella! Needless to say this reminds me of my "comfort food" when I was in college and living on $213 a month after tuition. x;-) One of my favorites was Top Ramen, cooked, drained, covered with tomato…

LAST EDITED ON 03-01-04 AT 06:30PM (CST)[br][br]Finally! A recipe that doesn't have meat in it or unusual vegetables marinated in unusual liquids. I love almonds and will certainly try this one, FHR. Are they…

That must be my problem. English/Irish heritage, neither of which is known for its fine cuisine. No wonder I'm so fond of boiled potatoes. x;-)
-
Sounds like it would probably be pretty good without the meat, too. If I ever get ambitious, I'll have to give it a try. x:-)
-
Well if you think you can grow parmesan, you need more help than we all thought, Don. x;-)
-
What's that tight feeling in my chest? Hmmmmm..... left arm's a little numb, too. Better have another forkful of fried potatoes.... maybe with a little gravy.... ARRGGHHH!!!!

Well, I'm not Don (but I play one on TV), but I'll wager any recipe of his involves something called butterflying and stuffing them with things/substances. x;-)
-
Yeah, Swanson's in the freezer case at your supermarket - get the Hungry Man size. x;-)

I've spent a lot of time in Mississippi, some in Alabama, most recently last month. The most frustrating thing of all has been trying to find something that wasn't extremely heavy and/or fried. And trying to find any type of vegetarian fare (even …

And for cryin' out loud, Paul, do NOT relocate to the Southeastern US - They deep fry everything down there and you should be able to just sit and listen to your arteries clog shut.
-
Uh, Don, how do you think I met her in the first place? It wasn't this forum, but it was a similar one. x;-) And don't worry -- they got their money's worth out of me while I was down there!
-
Well it will be next week before I'm able to find out, because I'll be in Alabama tomorrow through Sunday. You'll have to let me know what the verdict is - pot, or potted. x;-)
-
Where Don is concerned, I don't think we can assume ANYTHING, Leslie. x;-)

I have tried the "can't cook soup" but nothing else. However, I am cooking this afternoon at our company barbecue -- funny, I don't know why they'd put a vegetarian in charge of grilling burgers...
-
Hmmm... first cant cook soup, now cant cook cookies. I'm detecting a pattern here. BTW, I tried the soup recipe w/o the meat -- it was truly wonderful. And I generally don't like soup, but I ate all of this stuff! It was great! x:-)

My uncle on my father's side. x;-)

After looking at the posts here and in the HR de har section today, I'm wondering what a social scientist would deduce about a bunch of HR people's apparent preoccupation with alcohol and sex? :-?

Have you tried it without the meat? Is it any good?
