We just started a new business. I know that the employees need to fill out the EEO forms but as owners do we need to fill out one for ourselves as well?

For the EEO-1, if you are an employer with 100 or more employees (or a fed government contractor) you need to fill out the EEO-1 for all employees. The EEO-1 Form is looking for sex, race/ethnicity info on all types of employees, from Executie/Senior Levelofficials to craft workers and laborers. See the EEOC's EEO-1 site at http://www.eeoc.gov/eeo1/index.html -- they have some really helpful FAQs for filling out the new EEO-1 Form and self-identification techniques. Good luck!

However, you do not need to fill out the form or count yourselves if you are not employees of the Company. For purposes of the EEO-1, you are not employees if you are not on the payroll. If you compensate yourself by means other than a pay check resulting in a W-2, you are probably not technically "on the payroll" and therefore do not need to count yourselves.
