Is it just my perception or are there really getting to be many more incompetent and/or stupid people in the workplace? Frank, notice I didn't start the question with "is it just me".

A work comp blog I follow recently did a post on the number of stupid people around him (not his co-workers). I think it isn't stupidity, but laziness. We get pressed for time and skip steps or just don't bother to think things through. I hope it is just laziness. Laziness can be overcome, stupidity and foolishness cannot.

Oh, Nae, if it is just laziness, that makes it worse. I can forgive or overlook people who are stupid, they can't help that, but laziness is a choice.

I think what bugs me the most are people that I know aren't actually stupid, but who persist in acting stupid and doing stupid things. I see quite a bit willful ignorance and that bothers me far more than genuine stupidity does!

"willful ignorance"....I like that term. Can I borrow it?

I like 'willfull ignornace' too. It is a broader term than laziness, which is what alot of stupidity is, but works well in a LOT of situations.
