1099s and Employees

Hello everyone,
I'm needing some guideance on the following issue. We had recently went to a payroll law seminar, and realized we had been paying some of our cleaning crew incorrectly, the reason being some of our cleaning crew are employees. We were paying them with a 1099 for the cleaning and a paycheck for their 8-5 employment. Not being contractors for the cleaning. My questions now is.... We have employees that are on our Board of Directors and are being issued a 1099 for Board Meetings and are receiving a regular payroll check also. Do we need to correct this also?
