We have a new employee, 68 years old, who is asking why they have to contribute to Social Security and Medicare if they are already collecting benefits. Is there an age when you can stop the employee deductions?

The law does not have an age limit. Anyone earning income must pay the tax. If they want more specific information, I would direct them to the Social Security Administration.

As long as it holds out until I get my checks! I appreciate all of the younger people working for me. I only have a few years left until I am 62. Yea!!
