We spend a lot of time on the forum posting about our frustrations and problems. So, I thought it would be a nice change to post about what went [I]right[I] in 2009. What's one (or more) accomplishment you had in 2009 that you deserve a high 5 for? And no, Frank, wearing pants does not count.

This would be more of a High Five for my husband but after 13 years of building on weekends, we moved in to our beautiful (and almost debt-free) new home. He rocks! =D>

My husband is a big time procrastinator and if he started a house it would not be finished in my lifetime.

I can get my hubby to work, but the medical bills would put us in the poor house. If mowing the yard means a trip to emergency (shattered toes), and cutting down a little twig trying to turn into a tree in the fence line (chain saw head buzz) equals lots of blood and bye bye to a favorite hat, just imagine what a project like a house would cost us? Afterall, this is the guy who almost lost an eye trying to get out of a locked room by climbing out a ground floor window.

Congratulations Nevada! You and your husband deserve lots of kudos.

I've been cured of home improvement projects since the last one I tackled, a staircase. It was such a pain in the patootie. As a result, I admire anyone with the skill and the patience it definitely takes to build anything.

A whole house! I can't even get my head around all that would require. Congratulations on your new home and yes, we need pictures.

My parents built a house by themselves and it still took them two years as they were retired and had all day to work on the project. They only had the foundation poured and an electrician for the finish electrical work. My mother had two carpel tunnel surgeries because of the jackhammer and hammers. She said she would never go through building a house again.
