In means that the writer has gone back in and edited/changed their post as of that time and date. Sometimes I will go back for a typo or spelling. Othertimes I have had wanted to add or delete a thought.
Once you've posted a message, you can go back and edit it if you wish. The "Last edited" message appears at the top once a message has been edited. If you edit it numerous times, it will update it with that message each time you edit.
To edit a message, view the message you want to edit and click the Edit link in the bottom right corner of the message box.
Also Dorrie, careless people like me who think faster than their clumsy fingers type, often don't proofreed their stuff before posting it and realize later they have something really worng and scramble to edit it.
Thanks to all for helping me. I enjoy the forum, learning a lot about HR issues, and taking consolation that so many of the problems we have experienced are universal.
Dorrie: Since nobody else owned up honestly about another reason for the edit, I will. It also appears in cases where somebody posted an answer, then re-read it and realized how stupid his other answer was or found that he should have proofread it and eliminated some really inaccurate information. I have done that. I think once. ha! (But, as some will say, 'not often enough'). x:-)
Don, I always read your posts as you obviously have a lot of experience. Isn't it curious that something can look so perfect, and then you hit "send" and typos and grammar errors and illogical hypotheses appear. Darned computer gremlins!
