That's a double Amen for me, also. I'm just heart broken at all of the devastation. There's some emergency teams from New York on their way down to help out.

I'm going to a Red Cross meeting tomorrow night for an emergency preparedness session. Will send money to Red Cross & Feed The Children. I have plenty of canned vegetables, fruits & meats to donate also.

In times such as this, as Amercians have to help Americans because no one else will.

The television accounts of the devastation is unbelievable and over such a very large area.
Everyone there is in our thoughts and prayers.
The nation will come together to assist in the time of crisis.
Nebraska has sent teams in response to the emergency situation in New Orleans.

I'm told that there are hundreds of large power company trucks rolling through our state on Interstate 55, which we are on. I just saw five in the middle of Madison, where I am. They had Omaha Power on the door!

I am thankful and blessed. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. I work for a water & wastewater utility and am wondering how in the world do we REALLY prepare for the possibility of such a disaster?

Most of the relief effort is headed to the coast where the damage and the health risk is the worst. I saw a newscast from Jackson, MS where there is plenty of storm damage. The damage from the storm is widespread and we cannot neglect other areas. A large team from Elkton will be traveling South within days. Wish I could join them.

We are finally cooking with heat. Thanks to the large service trucks with Omaha, Nebraska on their doors, our area for the most part has restored power.

An unnamed Forumite sent me two cannisters of propane and probably broke several federal laws in the process. We cooked with that Friday nite.
