I am an hour south of Dallas and I got it for $2.75 yesterday. I heard there was a station in Dallas that was selling it for $1.97 on Saturday. The person telling me said that cars were lined up down the street.
Alleluiaaaa. Gas in Raleigh/Fayetteville is 2.85 right now (although not in every gas station) I saw an Exxon at $3.60 this am. . I think I'll go shopping with the money I saved!! Let's see... what can I buy with $5? Have to think about this one. Ciao
Gas was $3.36 here yesterday which was a big drop from the week before.
www.gasbuddy.com can show you a list of what stations in your area are charging. Its updated almost daily. Right now, $3.32 was the lowest price.
It's funny but paying $2.90 will seem downright cheap won't it. Its amazing what you can get used to over time: gas prices, $4 coffee, Madonna, and $70 monthly cell phone bills.
The oil companies lowered prices so the public won't be as angry at the Republicans when they go to the polls, so Obama won't get elected, so Big Oil can go back to screwing us over at will.
Cngr, I cannot believe gas is $4.35. on your part of the world!! How can that be? That is terrible. Is it just 1 gas station or all? Here in Fayetteville (NC) during the big "raise" for hurrican Ike a gas station jumped to $4.50 within 3 hours time. They were penalized $5000.00!! They should have closed them down. Is it the same situation in your state Cngr?
Ours is high because we're in Alaska, and all the gas stations in my town are charging the same amount. Ours has always been higher, so we went up at about the same rate as everyone else in the country did, we were just paying a higher amount to start with.
Go figure, Alaska is an oil-rich state and we pay more for gas than anybody else in the U.S.!
Glad to see things haven't changed much around here!
It's was around $4.50 a gallon in Chicago a week or so ago, but now it's hovering around $4/gallon. Although I'm CONVINCED that if the Cubs had actually made it to the World Series, hell would have frozen over and gas prices would drop all around the windy city...ah, wishful thinking.
Whew, our gas prices have finally started to drop. Over the weekend it dropped 18 cents, to $4.17. Now I understand the excitement that prompted someone to start this thread to being with.....what are we going to do with the extra $9 a week that we will be saving when we fill up our truck?!!!
The job is AMAZING! I am absolutely loving it up here, and have even found some Texas Exes to pal around with!....And (for better or worse!) some ex-Oklahomans. Joannie, I won't even mention "that game" to you. See? I didn't even mention it!!! x0:)

I paid $2.96 this morning. First time under $3 for me. Woohoo!
Hey Sarah, welcome back. How's the new job going?
As long as Ray is on the forum, gas is free!
