I think the rest are all pretty talented. Going on charisma and "Idol image", I say the bald guy with the Chiclet teeth should go. He seems like a very nice person and he has a good voice but he needs to go.
Thank goodness my boss does not judge whether or not I get to keep my own job based on these criteria.
I love Melinda. I think Jordin has an amazing voice too, but she doesn't really have one particular musical style.
I also think Blake will be in the final 3, maybe even 2. He's unique and has the "hip factor" going for him. He's not actually that amazing of a singer, but he's interesting. His voice sometimes has echoes of Ray Davies of The Kinks. Ever notice that?
Interesting. I think he's a great performer and also a cutie. Granted his voice isn't as strong as some of the others, but I find him a much more entertaining contestant than those with the stronger voices, with the possible exception of Melinda.
Actually, quite the opposite. Last week I was an irritable hag. Also, when I sing my youngest son shrieks "STOP SINGING!" so I'd say my singing voice pretty much sucks. (Although this morning I entertained him by playing percussion on my electric wok lid while playing "Brass Monkey" by the Beastie Boys.)
I am not bald, and I have normal sized teeth, so I guess I have THAT going for me. x:D

That's like when I was 6-7 years old going around singing "Like a Virgin" and other Madonna songs. When I finally learned what the songs were about, I wondered what my parents and grandparents must have thought at the time.
They probably thought "She has no idea what she's singing. As long as it's not in public, we're fine. At least she's not watching the video and dressing like Madonna."
We turned out to be relatively well-adjusted individuals, right?
Wait who said I didn't sing Madonna songs in public or watch the videos? Though it's true that the extent of my Madonna-like dressing was probably the 100 jelly bracelets I wore on my wrist.
I am now rooting for Jordin. She has the best voice. Melinda and Lakeisha (sp) will cancel each other out. Lakeisha has lost some of her luster. She almost seems like she's annoyed to be there. I know she's desperately homesick and misses her daughter. It may be taking it's toll on her.
Melinda has the best voice and Simon was right when he told her she has to lose that false modesty act everytime they tell her how good she is. It's total performance package, and right now Jordin is the one to beat with her singing and audience appeal.
HRQ- I like your comment that uncool people are NOT a protected class. That got me thinking. Maybe severely, chronicly un-coolness COULD be a protected class.
Could someone be SO uncool that major life activities are impaired? Like meeting members of the opposite sex?
How would you accommodate chronic un-coolness? What about percieved uncoolness?
I think my 11 year old daughter perceives me to be seriously uncool.
This uncoolness as a disability could offer ADA protection to thousands of Americans not too mention several members of this forum (Ray).
Yeah, that *was* mean - I had just finished telling someone how overrated I think Jordin is, and I was in happy amazement when Ryan made it seem that Jordin would be going home last night...he shouldn't get my hopes up like that!
Depends on how good/poorly they sing tonight. If Latesha (SP?) doesn't do better it could be her and one of the guys. In my humble opinion none of the guys are very good.
In fact, i don't see how ANY of the guys even got to go to Hollywood! They simply are not THAT good! I can't believe that out of all of the thousands of people who auditioned that these guys were the best.

Hey, isnt that song about drugs? What kind of mother are you?
All my boys know is that they are singing about a monkey, and the song has a fun beat.
When I was little, I liked to sing a lot of Beatles songs. Had no idea what I was singing about at the time.

But yes, all's well that ends well.

Back to Idol: that was just plain mean last night. Jordin should have popped Seacrest.
