OK folks! So it turns out Angel Smith and her abiding faith in God didn't actually save her from the Court House killer. But now that we know that all killer/hostage taking whackos want is little bump, we need some legislation to permit us all to keep a little crystal meth in our 'emergency kit' just in case some deranged killer grabs us and all he wants is some dope and a couple of pancakes.

I must admit that my first reaction to the news was as judgmental as yours. But then I had to remind myself that none of us are perfect and even an abiding faith in God sometimes does not prevent succumbing to selfish, free will. Who's to say that her faith in God did not indeed save her? I'm glad to know God does not limit His grace to only the perfect.

I agree with dchr9203 above. When first read the story as it unfolded earlier in the summer, I was waiting for others to tear her apart for her faith. Then when I read the story this morning, I thought, well she did it to herself. Yes, God's grace is not for the perfect, because none of us are.

The original post was meant to be sarcasm, not necessarily judgemental - well, maybe a little. And I admit to having been a bit skeptical when she got the guy to turn himself in, after having several opportunities to get away from him, and not taking them. One wonders now whether him finding her was really just chance. My real sarcasm though suspects the faith story just doesn't sell as many books as the drug story. In the end, she got a dangerous guy off the street w/o further injury to others, and for that we can all be grateful.

Unfortunately Shadowfax, your skepticism and sarcasm are well founded. The drug angle is more titillating and will sell more books or more importantly, will command a bigger check from a movie producer.
