Health Fair

I think this has been addressed before, but I couldn't find it by searching. We are going to have an all day health fair onsite, with spouses invited. We'll have prizes, drawings, T-shirts, fitness instructors, short yoga/pilates classes and demonstrations, health, nutrition, etc. Our GM wants to make it lots of fun, very upbeat. He wants a name for the event and/or a slogan to have printed on the T-shirts. Everyone on the forum is very creative, so I'm really counting on you! Thanks in advance.

I'm kinda partial to this one. For over 20 years I've worn a button on 'Smokout Day' that says, "I Quit Just For The Health Of It".

I'm jealous; wish you were doing one of these at our company!!

We only have 95 employees in three locations, so it is not as complicated as a large company. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will go over. We have a fitness consultant who makes the rounds a minimum of once a month to our three locations and answers fitness questions, helps with weight loss problems, etc. Then once a quarter he brings one or two assistants and does weight, bmi, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose, and flexibility tests. He keeps records (HIPAA approved manner) and reports to us how we are doing. For example, 13 employees have lost weight, 2 have gained weight (OK, I'm one of them),5 have lowered their cholesterol an average of 12 points, 4 employees have high blood pressure and have been advised to see a physician. I can't recommend something like this too highly. When we first started in January 04, one of our employees was advised to see his doctor as soon as possible for an elevated blood pressure (we found this out later). The employee did, but sadly it was too late. He collapsed on the job 6 weeks later and died of a heart attack at age 36. It was a definite wake-up call, and the employees, especially males, are really taking this seriously.
