I just checked my Forum Inbox by accident and realized I had several unread messages from some of you. I wish I had known! I would have at least acknolwedged you!

Is there a way to set an alert for when one arrives?

You DO get an alert, albeit a silent one. There's a retarded little red flag or triangle that comes up on the screen at the top. By the way, I got a can of chilpotl peppers in UPS mail today following my question on the forum as to what in the world they were! Next I may ask what a diamond is.

Well I'll be darned... I didn't know about that little red flag either and just saw that I had emails too. I wasn't being a snob either! Dang I could have had a real live voice wishing me 'merry christmas darlin'...oh well there's always next year!

There must be a message here. 75% of those claiming to know nothing of the little red triangle are the most vocal democrats on the Forum. Can we draw some conclusions here or is this pure coincidence? Gene, obviously I ain't talkin' about you.

Don't feel bad, Gene. I think I was a member for about a year when an impatient Forumite pointed out that a response was required to a message that was waiting for me. I had to ask for directions to find it cuz it sure wasn't obvious. :-)

Back in December, James sent out a red-flag message to about hundred participants. Those who responded within one month got a $100 gift certificate to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. If not responded to, the message was deleted after the passage of one month. Boy, I sure did enjoy getting that! And I heard from six others who responded and got the prize too. This will teach you guys to pay attention.

Don't do it Don. This is smilar to the kids who urged you to stick your tongue on the mailbox in the middle of winter

My gift was meant to introduce you to what I consider a delicacy. Enjoy them, savor them, use a bit to season a stew or dish. Add some of the adobo to scrambled eggs (even a dab to a bloody mary for Pork).

Ray: Didn't you get the rule sheet? First, you can't lie about private mail. Second, it's not within the rules to state publicly from whom you get or got private mails. A gentleman doesn't tell. There's also great risk in such revelation. One day James will do a survey on how many marriages and divorces have been caused by private messaging.
