• Our CEO perceives himself comedian. When we have our company parties he will get up front with the mike and ask business related questions and hand out anywhere from $5 to $50 as rewards for correct answers. Sometimes he will have 4 or 5 people come up front and will play "Lets Make a Deal" with them pitting them against each other for prizes, but they all get something if they play. We've rented a money booth, where the bills are blown around inside and the person blindfolded and told to grab what they can. To get in, they have to answer a question correctly. The questions are related to our prcedures, policies, etc.
• Tell us something about the company. How many people? Conservative folks or party animals? Are you taking about December holiday parties or general holidays like Arbor Day or Administrative Professionals Day? Do you have a budget? Are these parties opportunites for employee recognition or just a chance to enjoy each other?
• We have about 70 employees. Our Holiday Party is usually in December. Our budget is anywhere from 6,000 - 18,000. We have gone to casino's, mystery cruises, hotels, castles, and the maritime center (sea animals). We are a young group and we love to have fun. Our CEO is 40 years of age and he is bored with the normal holiday parties.
• LAST EDITED ON 02-09-05 AT 01:50PM (CST)[br][br]we scrapped our traditional holiday party (for a number of reasons) and the summer picnic in favor of an annual sunday at Hershey Park...we cater a lunch for all employees and one guest, additional tickets can be purchased at a reduced rate.

Granted, we're not engaging in any team building...but it is a great day out and our employees appreciate it, participate and have a great time. which was the desired outcome.

edit...one of my hubby's clients just sponsored a "night at the caberet"...dinner hors'd'overs, before the show, then a dessert/coffee bar afterwards....by all accounts this was a big hit with the employees.
