Your Polling Place--How Busy??

Hey everyone,
How busy was your polling place? I went to vote around 7:00 am this morning and there was about 15 people in line and it got busier the longer I was there.

Usually there is maybe 3-4 people there when I go.

I hope everyone voted correctly!!! (or at least my way) x:D

There were a lot of people at my polling place. I got there about 7:10 and finally got to vote at about 7:35. When I left, the line was longer.

Very busy! The busiest I've ever seen it in40 years of voting. This is a great country!

Extremely busy. My hubby and I got there at 7am and was finally walking out at 8:35am. That was the longest I ever waited. When we got there at 7am there was probably about 100 people in line. Amazing.

Never had a line before, about 50-60 in line this a.m. so couldn't wait. Going back at lunch, so hopefully I don't have to go after work.

I was there about 7:20 a.m.. The line wasn't long, but there was a constant flow of people in and out.

Very busy, but it usually is for the presidential elections; not so much for the local elections. Got there at 7:05; left at 7:30. Steady flow and much of it was parents letting kids out for school (polling is at the middle school in our community). Probably would go faster if it weren't for the suggested state amendments on the back of the ballot that nobody knows anything about and don't affect our county!

Just got back from voting - went at 10:00 a.m. thinking it would be quiet - line outside when we went in and the line was longer when we left! Great Country!

That's what I love about Oregon. Vote by mail. Haven't stood in line at a polling place since 1980. x:-)

I did absentee this year but due the ballot getting to me on Saturday walked it into the polling place there was about 5 people at 7:30am.

Alittle curious did anyone ask for your ID or electric bill.

No, no ID. It's all by mail. Once they have your signed registration card and ID on file, they just compare the signature on the ballot envelope to the one on file and voila! You've voted.

Here at City Hall, the place is VERY BUSY! By 7:00 when the polls opened the lines snaked through our commons area, down from second floor and into the parking lot. It hasn't gotten any better. Maybe we'll match Afghanistan's voter turnout! What a good thing for a democracy.

Polls opened in Ohio at 6:30. I was there at 6:25. There were about 35 people in line ahead of me. I've never seen it so busy. When I left, the line was huge and growing.

I was in line at 6:30 this morning and voted at 7:50 am. By the time I left, there were at least 300 people waiting. This is great! I can't wait to watch the coverage this evening.

I was going to vote this morning, but the polling place was so crowded that they had people standing on line outside. I'll vote this afternoon.

I took my mom to vote in Concord at 12:30. Very few people there inside or outside...they asked for her ID too. She was in and out in 10-15 minutes. Only Kerry people standing around waving their plaques. I could have sworn that I saw Bush/Cheney signs on every corner earlier this week; I wonder where they all went?

I voted at 4:45 and was in and out within 5 minutes. My daughter, who went to vote about an hour later, was on line for 30 minutes. Timings everything.

I live in a small town - about 3500. I was waiting in line about 6:50 A.M., and was finished about 8:00 A.M. Never have I seen so many people in line to vote.

My son lives about 30 minutes away. He moved to his new home in Feb 04, and has not changed his drivers license. He had to drive home to vote. They would not let him vote without identification showing his address. It was good to see him.

I arrived at my polling place at high noon and was stunned to find exactly one person ahead of me in the M-Z line and no one in the A-L line. Even with using a new voting machine and having to figure out how to do a write-in, I was in and out of there in 5 minutes. Eerie!

In Mississippi (go figure) it's not legal to ask one to verify their identity at a polling place. So the first couple of times I voted, the line was rather short. Once in the afternoon there were almost 20 in line. I chatted with a fellow in line who told me he was voting a second time and would vote differently. Is that an IQ test or what?

Went to vote last evening after work since polls are not open when I leave in the morning. Amazing! What a crowd! Two hours and 21 minutes later I left the booth! And there were still 150-200 folks waiting outside to vote!

I left work at 4:30 p.m. and was home by 5:00 p.m. Two people were in line in front of me. There were three precincts at my voting place. My precinct and one other had no or very little waiting. The third precinct had people out the door of the school gym and down the hallway. Seems like they don't have their precincts divided correctly or maybe nobody in my precinct was voting. :-? And yes, I did vote correctly.

My experience mirrors mushroom's but I was in the long line and two precincts had no line. The poll worker told me that those precincts had 120 and 135 voters respectively and that mine had 750! Time to take a look at this!
