Just got back from my lunchtime walk. Parked on the street was a truck, appropriate colors, for a company that cleans septic tanks, declogs pipes etc. Name of the company was "Doody Guy to the Rescue."
Also, today we got a catalogue from a company that sells semis. Name of the company was "Crooked Motors."

Several years ago, the Imus in the Morning radio/MSNBC broadcast did a live show from Sioux City, Iowa, where I happened to live at the time. One of the sponsors was Charlie Zook Motors. I'll never forget Don Imus's comment - "Would you buy a used car from a guy whose last name rhymes with 'crook'?"

Oddly enough, that particular clip from the show was never used in an advertising spot for Imus on the local radio station that carried the show!

The best one I have seen is a demolotion company named "Edifice Wrecks". Maybe only the Latin nerds, like me, will get it but I thought that was so very clever.

We have an outfit in town that does green plants for office buildings - it's called "Rentokill". I don't think that the name was deliberate, but that's what would happen to any plant in my care, custody & control - I might as well rent it because it'll die soon anyway!

I recently passed a commercial van, painted with the company logo and all kinds of phone numbers and graphics, really nice. Then I noticed the name: Blown Rite Insulation. I'd hate to be their receptionist and have to repeat that all day!

Years ago Groupe Bull (French) bought out the computer division of Honeywell where I worked. At first they had us answering the phone "Honeywell-Bull," but after the buyout was complete they insisted we answer the phones with a simple, "Bull."

Some of the responses were priceless.

We had a hospital dietitian named Dorothy Spoon, and a housekeeping worker named Margaret Drain.

Growing up in Anaheim, there was and probably still is a mortuary with an unfortunate name:

"Baggot and Schacht Mortuary"

I guess that's better than "Schacht and Baggot"

Many years ago my husband (whose name is Grabbe) worked for a law firm. The other partner's name was Tittsworth. After several years they hired a (female) associate named Goodnight. Needless to say, their secretary refused to say the firm name (Tittsworth, Grabbe, and Goodnight) when answering the phone. She just said "Law Offices". This is a true story.

I had a dentist in Bedford, Nova Scotia, whose name is "Moller", pronounced like molar, and her partner was Gaum. You guessed it, pronounced "Gum". They were meant to work together.
