SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

My company is located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. We are a warehouse/manufacturing facility. We are reviewing are shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

I would like to find out what other manufacturing facilities in this area are paying their employees for shift differential.

We are currently at $.33 for all shifts.

Got these from a couple of my HR contacts in manufacturing(Springfield, MA area):

$.40 for second shift and $.50 for third shift - paper manufacturing operation -Massachusetts (Western part of State) and Connecticut

$.37 for second shift and $.45 for third shift - electronic component assembly -Massachusetts (Western part of State)

We're in Alabama and under a union contract, we pay 20 cents for second and 30 cents for third.

We give a 5% of hourly wage for 3rd and a 7.5% for 2nd.
It has definitely helped our recruiting for 2nd shift.

Yes, believe it or not. This is the first place I have ever worked that has been this way but when I first came on board we were paying 5% premium for both shifts and could not keep 2nd filled. Even had 2nd shift EEs posting for jobs on 3rd. Since implementing the 7.5% on 2nd it has been much more manageable.

WE are not in your area but pay $0.40 for the off shift.

We are a manufacturer in Phoenix AZ.
2nd shift gets 10% per hour
3rd shift gets 21% per hour

We are a manufacturing company in Fort Myers, FL and we pay 10% for both 2nd and 3rd shift. I'd like to see 2nd shift pay more since it's harder to fill. Most people would rather work 3rd than 2nd if they can't be on 1st shift.

We are manufacturing company and only have a second shift.
In MA we pay 15%
in TX we pay 25 cents more
in CA we pay $1.00 more
(I know, this is crazy, but I inherited it.)

We are a manufacturing company in WI and we pay $ .15 for 2nd shift and $ .25 for 3rd shift.
