My organization is looking to purchase timesheet software to keep track of employees' time spent working on different projects (not for payroll purposes). All of our timesheets are currently paper-based. Employees write in the # of hours they worked on this project on that day, etc. We have one poor soul in our Accounting department who has to enter all this information (project codes and number of hours spent on them) into a database manually. Does anyone have any recommendations for software products that handle timekeeping and would be useful for this purpose?

Timeslips still seems pretty common for law firms and consulting firms. It does exactly what you want but can also generate the invoices if you are looking to provide this level of detail to your customers for services rendered.

I used to work at a consulting firm. They used software called Databasics. I don't know much about the product, but can tell you that the consultants used it to enter, on a daily basis, the number of hours worked on each project.
