We are preparing for our healthcare renewal and I'm wondering what everyone elses has looked like. We try to make our staff aware that increases are occuring every where and to everyone.

• We are looking at 20%. Last year the company switched from a traditional PPO plan to a High Deductible (read: "consumer driven") HRA medical plan. Cigna (current company) low-balled the competitor and won the contract. Now, even though our folks have done great with managing their health care and in fact claims are much lower than premium, Cigna wants to adjust rates back up. Our "poor" x;-) insurance broker actually told us that we were "lucky" because he was meeting with groups where the same insurance company was asking for 40% increases.
• Yuk!

This is the third year of our Consumer Drive Plan, second year with and HSA. The rates for the CDP went up 5% and when it got factored into the HMOs and PPOs the aforementioned rate went from 15% to 13%. We made a tweak to our benefits (added a $250 copay for day surgery) and the rates went to 12%
• In June, we received a 27% increase and it looks like 2006 will be another 15%. Our company took on the entire increase this year, but is now looking into a deductible plan with an HRA for our renewal in June 2006. We want to put some ownership back onto the employees. We're also looking into wellness screenings for employees.
• We have a partially self insured plan. Last year we did not pass along any increase in premium costs. This year we are passing along a 5% increase. We pay 100% of ee cost and 50% of dependent cost. The ee is reponsible for 50% of dependent cost.
• LAST EDITED ON 11-22-05 AT 09:58AM (CST)[br][br]After a rate hold this year on the 2004 premium, we've been bombed with a 32% increase for next year, so the plan administrators are meeting to discuss adjusting the benefits (add in some coinsurance with a deductible, increase copays on PCP/Specialist vists and 'scripts, etc.). Of course, the pancreatic cancer and emergency hysterectomy that drove up our claims have both exited the company, so I don't know what their complaint is...
• Good idea.

In MA, 15% for HMO and PPO.
• BCBS of AL came in with a 19% (supposedly capped from 23%), which FINALLY drove us to a partially self-funded plan, which will reduce our increase to 9.5% based on some plan design changes and carving our our Rx program to a TPA.
