cobra election - max # of months allowed

I have an EE who is resigning 1/30/04. What is the max amt of time she can stay on Cobra? Is it 18 months or 24 months? She is going back to school part-time, she is 23/24 yrs old and is going to take a part-time job.

It is the later of 18 months from the qualifying event (1/30) or the date coverage is lost due to the qualifying event.
