What is the Healthcare Care Max that a FSA Plan may have? Am I correct that there is only a max for Dependent Care ($5K) and that there is no IRS max on the health side? Thanks.
In all of my documentation, I see no Federally set cap for Health FSA. The employer has the ability to set minimums and maximums. I have typically seen caps set at 3,000 - 5,000.
Our Health FSA is capped at 3,000 and we have no minimum.
To my knowledge, there is no max set by the feds, other than the $5,000 you mentioned for dependent care coverage. Your policy and the ees salary are the only limits.
If by "unreimbursed medical spending account" you are referring to a Section 125 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for Medical Expenses you are incorrect. It is possible that your specific 125 plan has a restriction of $5,000 on your medical spending account but the IRS does not impose a limit on contributions to a medical FSA. There is a limit of $5,000 on a Dependent Care FSA.
