In Washington State ordinary work stress is not a compsenable condition. Examples are problems with a supervisor or co-worker, worry over a layoff, work load, etc. However, unusual circumstances such as a grocery clerk being robbed, the perpetrator had a weapon and the employee suffers stress (PTSD), that may be compensable. The cases are looked at individually.
