Are absences for an employee to attend custody hearings for placement of their child with one of the biological parents covered under FMLA?

    Yes - I read a civil case recently which indicated that even though it is placement for a biological parent, it is still considered under the provisions of adoption. Sorry, I can't quote the case....but the "sponge" sure absorbed this issue as we had a similar situation in our company.
