Our President has charged me with updating job descriptions. He's asked that we use a template so we have consistent job descriptions .

Do any of you havea template that works for you.

Please note that not every job description will have all categories. For example, not every position has physical requirements or marginal duties.

Not every job has physical requirements? I think I know what you mean, but even if the requirements are sitting, standing, typing, filing, you need to have them on the description for ADA purposes.

Each of our job descriptions has physical requirements. I believe my own says...be able to sit for 75% of shift, maximum lifting 30# (a box of paper), etc.

We recently had an ex-ee go to UI, and claim he had back problems which prevented him from sitting for long periods of time. He was a voluntary quit- so I sent UI the job desc. he signed stating he was able to sit for 80% of his 12 hour shift. Since he didn't have any medical verification, or request for accommodation- he was denied.
