Does anyone have a copy of a HIPAA Initial Notice sent to all new hires and their eligible dependents they would be willing to share? I searched, but couldn't find this particular document. I'd appreciate any help you can give me. My email address is [email]lhill@midsouthsynergy.com[/email].

The HIPAA Initial Notice would be the same one you give to your current employees. It's actually called the Notice of Privacy Practices. I'm wondering if you're not getting COBRA and HIPAA confused. COBRA requires that new employees receive an initial notice.

The Initial HIPAA Notice I believe contains language addressing pre-existing conditions and late enrollments. Similar to COBRA, but different if you know what I mean. Or, if we are on HMO can we forget about pre-existings? Open enrollment allows anyone to join.
