I am looking into changing our COBRA operating procedures. Can anyone share what they have?

What exactly needs to be on that procedure?

I'm thinking the question isn't clear Lora. COBRA is voluminous and we would need to know what it is you're trying to arrive at. Are you simply wanting to compare the processes of sending out notifications? Third party administrators? Receipt of premium payments? Coverage packages? Qualifying events?

I am looking for a copy of the entire procedure including notification, payment, terminations, everything.

There have been new forms proposed by the DOL in regards to COBRA: [url]http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/compliance_assistance.html#section2[/url]

You can get the election notices here. I created a database for my COBRA employees. I can imput all my information on one form for each employee and it will go to several tables. Then I can write queries for the information that I need. It is quite simple and contains all the information that I need for each employee's COBRA status.

Let's try this Lora: Tell us how your program operates now, how you handle your notifications, whether or not you administer it in house or through a TPA, what you consider qualifying events, who collects premiums currently for your company and how, and what you do about delinquencies currently. With that information provided, you will have lots of responses with suggestions. x:-)
