One more quick thing. Most states you are able to record video with no legal problems, but recording the sound can get you in a lot of trouble.
In many states you can record sound if one of the people know it is being recorded. Other states force you to notify all people if sound is being recorded. Since you are recording with no one knowing that what is happening, just make sure that sound is not being recorded too.
Thanks, Shadowfax! When I came to work this morning, there was an invoice on my desk for video surveillance equipment and installation - we're 24 hours (aviation), so they came in at 3AM. It took a long time for me to spot the camera - really tiny! The actual tape recorder is mounted in my office. So we'll see what happens. I sure hope something does - this whole thing has turned unsavory, to say the least. It's kind of a morale buster, too, because the other employees think they're under suspicion, and I have to let that perception ride for the time being. But these are aircraft mechanics and dispatchers who have been around for years with no wrinkles on their records. Wish us luck...
What ever happened to your problm child? Did you install the cameras? Did you monitor the comings and goings? Was she doing it herself? Been two weeks since you wrote in to the forum about your problem - did it resolve itself or is it ongoing?

And don't forget to let us know -- this thread was better than T.V.
