EEO-1 proposed revision

Has anyone seen the proposed revision of the Employer Information Report (EEO-1)? What do you think of the changes? I'm not pleased with the proposed revamping and am just wondering how everyone else who must complete an EEO-1 or AAP feels. Thanks for any comments.

I have all my employees coded with the old job categories 1 through 9 and the old race/ethnic codes B through K. Now I will have to recode everyone to comply with their new reporting requirements. My database for 200 employees will have to be revised. I will also have to change my employee data sheet that we give out to all applicants along with my summary sheet. I feel the government is digging too deep.

Our company isn't up to having a good salary plan to begin with so adding the 2 categories for managers will be crazy. However, if it's what is needed, it might be the motivator to get managers to cooperate.

I have to fill out the EEO-1 Report but haven't seen the changes yet. Are they listed up the the EEOC or Joint Reporting Commission website yet?

I haven't seen the proposed changes either and would be interested in knowing if they are located on the web site as well.

Actually, it looks like they want the same data, just in a different format. It could be worse. The idea of listing "Latinos" along with races is inherently difficult since "Latino" is a culture not a race.

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know...

I received my EEOC-1 Report package in the mail yesterday. They are going with the old forms this year and the new proposed forms won't become effective until 2004.

For those of you who complete the forms via diskette, they have a new on-line system whereby you complete the forms on-line and don't have to mail in the forms or the diskettes.

At least this gives us a little more time to take care of our HRIS issues.
