Although I do not know Louisiana law, I can recommend a resource put out by BLR, [u]What to Do About Personnel Problems[/u] that I have found very useful when looking up laws that are specific to my state. It contains both National and State-specific laws that impact how you handle employee issues.
You might want to check with your state's Department of Labor, I found all the statutes posted my state's DOL website. If the web option isn't available, just give them a call.
